David Contois
David’s passion has been in the world of design, social change and marketing for the majority of his career and is the contact for the San Francisco office. Mr. Contois received a B.A. in History from San Diego State University and a Masters in Business Administration from National University. From 2007-08, he was Director of Communications and Community Partnerships for the San Diego Repertory Theatre. As a volunteer, he is currently working with the Taproot Foundation. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Ad Club, San Diego Human Dignity Foundation, Mama’s Kitchen, San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative, the Balboa Park Trust at the San Diego Foundation and the marketing committee for LEAD San Diego.
In his spare time, David enjoys painting, fitness, reading just about anything, and spending time with his partner, daughter and dog (boxer). He won the Inspiration Award in 2009 from the Friends of Balboa Park for his leadership on the Balboa Park Trails. David is also a graduate of LEAD San Diego. LEAD trains regional civic leaders through its nine-month curriculum in leadership development. A recent resident of San Francisco, David will no doubt be giving back to the San Francisco community as fervently as he has contributed in San Diego.
J. Alex Tiscareno
Alex is your San Diego contact and he has had a most unique career/university path of being an award-winning music composer/arranger, banking, theatre performer, manufacturing IT support and national sales manager. This background has somehow managed to land Mr. Tiscareno in the center of doing something he never dreamed of: making a living being creative. For the last 10 years, he has provided marketing and graphic design efforts to countless nonprofit organizations on a local, regional and national level. Always looking for ways to digitally evolve the process, Alex can be found at just about any bizarre hour with his nose buried inside the latest creative industry publication, website, technogadget or horrendously thick software manual. He currently serves as an officer on the Board of Directors for Lyric Opera San Diego/Birch North Park Theatre. An avid foodie and ardent supporter of the arts, Alex makes the most of his spare time being with his very large, loving and loud family, his two “reasonable facsimiles of cocker spaniels,” Audrey and Shelby, laughing a lot with his friends, and promoting pet rescue adoptions.
